Opening Hours

We are open every Friday (except Good Friday and over Christmas) from 10:00 to 11:30

Purchasing Procedure

We operate a simple and efficient check-out scheme that avoids each helper having to handle money. When you come in you pick up a wire basket and a purchase list. Whenever you make a purchase, hand this list to the helper or producer who will add the item or items to it. On your way out pass your completed list to one of the check-out desks and get everything in a single operation.

Cheques

Please note that, as of July 2011, we are unable to accept cheques as payment as banks offer no means of guaranteeing them. Customers may pay by cheque if they become an "Account" customer. This is merely a register of customer details (not shared with any other party for any reason). Please talk to a Committee Member if you wish to become an Account Customer.

Gift Vouchers

We have introduced a "Gift Voucher" scheme where customers may purchase vouchers, currently available in £5 and £10 denominations, that can be exchanged for goods or services at a later date. At the moment they can only be redeemed at Jacobs Well Country Market but we hope one day to involve some other local markets. Ideal Christmas presents!

Customers should note that all of the food produce offered for sale at our market must meet stringent requirements. No produce contains preservatives or has been frozen. All cooks are required to have taken the Basic Kitchen Hygiene Certificate and keep detailed records of ingredients and suppliers.

Orders

Orders for produce can be placed for the next market at the Order Table. Craft orders may require a small deposit. This should be discussed with the producer. Come to the Order table if you want to use the Parcel Scheme as well.

Weights and Measures

All produce sold by weight will be in Kilograms or Grams. Similarly, goods sold by volume will be in Litres. This is to comply with UK and EU requirements.

Suggestions

Our primary aim is to please. Should you have any suggestions or ideas to further that aim then please talk to any of the Committee who will be only to glad to hear your comments.

Parcel Scheme

The Country Markets operate a nationwide Parcel Scheme in which we participate. If you have a friend or relative you want to send produce to then place your order. The Country Market nearest to the destination will be contacted and they will complete the order and get it delivered.

Complaints

Our best efforts are spent in order that our market is to the highest standard in terms of cleanliness, cost, curtesy and efficiency. If you find us lacking in any of these departments, don't keep it to yourself, please tell us immediately.
